Coolify turns a Linux VPS into a self-hosted Heroku alternative: Git deploys, Docker builds, databases, and TLS. The platform is efficient, but build caches and concurrent deployments eat resources fast.

Minimum viable setup

For a single app and occasional deploys, gc.micro ($5.00/mo) is a practical floor. gc.nano works for learning Coolify on a test domain, but production builds will feel tight during docker build.

Production recommendations

• gc.medium ($15.00/mo): Sweet spot for small teams running 3–5 services with CI-style builds.
• gc.xlarge ($45.00/mo): Multiple projects, larger images, and staging environments on one panel.

Transfer is a 2 TB account pool plus up to 500 GB for each server each UTC calendar month, prorated by time provisioned. Extra TB is an add-on when deploys and traffic need it.

Install Coolify

Coolify ships an installer script for Debian and Ubuntu. Run it on a fresh VPS, lock SSH to keys, and let Coolify manage reverse proxy and certificates for your applications.

Billing model

LayerOne bills hourly from prepaid account credit, for as long as a server exists. Run a larger test server for a sprint and destroy it when the work is done. Resizing only goes up, so start at the size you need and resize as builds grow. No annual contract required.
